Men's Wedding Bands-Gold Wedding Rings

The biggest decision has already been made. Now it's time to look for men's wedding bands and determine the piece of jewelry you will be wearing every day for years to come. There is a wide variety of men's wedding bands on the market and it can be tough to find the ring that suits your tastes. I remember shopping for my wedding ring and I found it to be a daunting task. Did I want a titanium ring or a gold wedding ring? Did I want a white gold wedding ring or a regular gold wedding ring? Of course, a lot of women like it to match their ring as well. I thought I would put together a list of some of the wedding bands that I liked just in case other guys (and gals) are having a tough decision and may be limited by what their local jewelry store has to offer. There is going to be enough stress with planning the actual occasion so might as well try to make shopping for your rings a little easier. Right?

The first route we can take when looking for a wedding ring is of course, the traditional route. A very plane smooth ring. We could go with either gold or white gold. These rings are usually pretty economical and are very common with lots of people. When we first started looking for our wedding rings, this is what I had in mind. However, after shopping for a while we ended up getting something different. However, if you would rather go with something less flashy and easy on your budget, this could very well be the best way to go.

Some people like a little more flare than the traditional ring and like to have a diamond set in the band. This option can go from fairly reasonable to pretty expensive, pretty quick. The diamonds usually won't be too large since it has to fit in the band, but they can fit several diamonds around the edge of the band. Generally they can start at .05 carats and .2 carats. I'm sure you can find larger, but most seem to come in this range. The good thing about a diamond ring, is if you ever get a divorce, you can sell it for a deposit on your new apartment! Ok, that was a bad joke but I couldn't resist.

This particular style is my personal favorite. I think it has a very sharp look to it. There is no better way to describe it than flat. It kind of reminds me of a car part or something. Maybe that's the appeal. These come in a pretty wide range of prices, but depending on the width of the band, you can find them starting in the low $200's. The wider they get, the more expensive they become. Of course, the karat of gold effects the price as well.

This style is similar to the traditional only has a tapered edge. It's almost a combination between the traditional and the flat edge. One word that you may get used to hearing is compromise. If there is a dispute between traditional or flat edge, this may be the compromise. Price wise, they are at the lower end of what a flat edge would cost. They are fairly modest yet have a little more flare than the traditional style.

These are not gold.They are carbon and come in a wide variety of styles. As far as the budget is concerned, these are awesome! You can get almost any style for less than $100. These rings allow you to display much more personality than most gold bands offer. They have different colors and designs in them that let you reflect who you are. If nothing else, check them out and see what you might like even if you plan to go with gold.

These are at the complete opposite of the spectrum from the carbide rings. A big difference between platinum and gold rings are how long they last. Gold is a softer metal and so there is less actual gold in a gold ring. Platinum is 90%-95% pure. Platinum does not wear down like gold does so it will last a very long time. Plus, you get the pleasure of knowing that you are wearing a more precious metal on your finger than most people do.
